Applique
Applique. a technique of "applying" fabric shapes to a background fabric, is a way of achieving a large area of color in an machine embroidery design without using a large number of stitches (also decrease time for made embroidery design). It is also used to add dimension and texture to machine embroidery by incorporating fabrics such as fake fur, Ultrasuede, and even sequins, into a machine embroidery design composition.
When considering a design for applique, a straight stitch will be needed along the very edge fabric. almost any machine embroidery design digitized with a straight stitch that is later covered by satin stitch or a blanket stitch can be used as an applique design.
